Blackrock Mountain State Park
Blackrock Mountain State Park is located 3 miles north of the town of Clayton. This beautiful 1,718-acre park is located on the southern range of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Visitors are offered 80 miles of spectacular views of the south Appalachians. Forty-eight full-facility and 12 walk-in campsites are available. All are surrounded by deep hardwoods. Ten cabins are available to rent in the park. Recreational activities include a 10-mile hiking system, picnicking, fishing and a waterfall. If you're looking for breathtaking vistas and deep woods, Blackrock Mountain State Park is the right place to camp.

Fort Mountain State Park
Fort Mountain State Park is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest in Chatsworth. This park is named for the 855-foot-long rock wall located on the tallest part of the mountain. The wall is thought to have been built by Indians protecting themselves from more hostile Indians. This beautiful park has some of the greatest views in the state. There are 74 full-facility campsites and 15 cottages available for rent. Recreational activities include 14 miles of hiking trails, 30 miles of mountain biking trails and 37 miles of horse trails. Swimming is allowed at the lake, and miniature golf and picnicking are available. Fort Mountain State Park is a camper's delight if you're looking for thick hardwoods and an abundance of wildlife.

High Falls State Park
High Falls State Park is located south of Jackson off I-75. The park is built where there once was a prosperous industrial town. In the 1880s, the town was bypassed by a railroad, and it turned into a ghost town. High Falls is named for the waterfall flowing from the Towaliga River located in the park. The park offers 112 full-facility campsites located in deep woods. Swimming is allowed in the pool and in the river. The park also offers three hiking trails encompassing 4 miles, fishing, miniature golf and picnicking. This is a great park to enjoy thick woods and taking it easy.
