Known for its quality tires and tubes, Kenda USA is one of the most highly regarded and best selling tires in the world. And its mountain bike tires are a great example of its quality and innovation of design. With a tire for every facet of mountain biking from cross country racing to downhill biking, Kenda's tires are designed to provide the most performance for the lightest amount of weight possible. Kenda's Excavator, Small Block Eight, and Nevegal 2.1 tires are stellar examples of what Kenda has to offer.

Kenda Excavator

With aggressive side lugs for grip and a low profile top tread for rolling efficiency, Kenda's Excavator mountain bike tire is a grippy tire that digs into berms and provides traction whether riding downhill or flying around corners. Bicycling.com's Matt Allyn lauded the tire's dual-length tread, saying its "effect is that you can rip around turns, while the middle knobs devour rock gardens" without sacrificing rolling efficiency or getting clogged with mud. He summed up the Excavator by saying "any rider looking to try a beefier, rock-eating, confidence-inspiring tire, look no further."

Small Block Eight

Riders looking for a lightweight, fast rolling summer tire would do well to look at Kenda's Small Block Eight cyclocross tire. Kenda's Dual Tread Compound (DTC) design offers low rolling resistance as well as tight cornering. Calling it its "ultimate summer rubber," BikeRadar.com noted the Small Block Eight's "outstanding mix of speed, grip and durability." BikeRadar reviewers Guy Kesteven and Steve Worland praised the tire's durability as well as its performance, calling it "impressively rock- and rip-proof" and noting that after two years of use, the tires "look almost new."

Nevegal

Voted the No. 1 Tread Pattern by Mountain Bike Action, Kenda's Nevegal sports a two-ply construction and a Stick-E rubber compound for better grip, and its aggressive, wide-spaced lugs find grip in wet terrain. BikeRadar's Guy Kesteven called the Nevegal's "great wet-weather tread," citing its use of their Dual Tread Compound, which features firmer rubber for the center treads and softer rubber for the outer treads, which allows for faster rolling in the flats and better grip in the turns.
