Whether the priority is spending a week in the woods with the family, camping by the sea for a weekend or hiking along backcountry trails, these tents are worth considering for those who crave the best Coleman has to offer.

Hooligan 3 - 8'x7'

The Hooligan 3 -- 8'x 7' is a single room, dome tent designed for use during the summer in campgrounds. This model has a large mesh roof---ideal for those who like to stargaze before snoozing. Features include a two-pole fiberglass system, 59- inch center height, vestibule for dry entry and an outer rain shell. Specifications include a weight of 13 lbs., polyester taffeta 75D fly, mesh composed of polyester 68D and a polyethylene 1000D-140g/square meter floor. The tent has a one-year warranty. Though marketed with three campers in mind, those hoping to store their gear inside during foul weather will find this tent better suited for two persons.

Northstar X6

The Northstar X6 is a two-room, three-season family-size tent designed for six campers. Best suited for groomed campsites, this model has a large 14 by 8-foot floor area. Other features include a cable-style construction, center height of 6.2 feet, four doors, and one room that you can convert into a screened porch. Specifications include 16mm, 6061-T6 aluminum poles, 70D nylon-ripstop tent canopy, 210-denier nylon oxford floor, mesh roof with zip panels, a rain fly composed of 75T, 210 T polyester-ripstop with taped seams, and an overall weight of 34 lbs.

Avior X2

The Avior X2 is a Coleman's best choice for two-person backcountry camping in three seasons. Backpackers will like this model's overall packing weight of 4 Ibs.,10 oz. Features include a tunnel shape, center height of 39 inches, reflective trim for easy assembly and safety, and a two-way compression carrying bag. Specifications include a 91 by 49-inch floor space, polyester-ripstop rain fly, nylon taffeta tent floor, polyester canopy and aluminum 7001-T6 poles. Although marketing lists this tent as sleeping two persons, campers hoping to store fully loaded backpacks inside may discover a tight fit.
