Resorts in Orofino, Idaho

Resorts in Orofino, Idaho
Orofino was settled by settlers in 1898 due to the gold rush and the movement of the railroad into the area. Today, the town boasts a population of about 2,000 and access to some tremendous trails, fishing and area skiing in season. Additionally, outdoor travelers who are going on to other stops like Moscow or Coure d' Alene, Idaho will find Orofino to be an excellent jumping off point.

Best Western Lodge at River's Edge

For the out of town traveler who is unfamiliar with Idaho's panhandle, finding a place to stay like Best Western is likely a welcome site. While many travelers prefer finding that little out-of-the-way place that uniquely represents a town, often wary travelers just want something familiar--at least to start with. Best Western Lodge has all of that, but it also has the advantage of providing close access to the best the area has to offer including steelhead and salmon fishing as well as Lewis and Clark historical sites. The hotel itself offers over-sized rooms equipped with decks, free high-speed Internet access, TV, free long distance, coffee maker and microwave. Additionally, some of the rooms come with fireplaces and spas. There's also an indoor pool and an exercise facility.

Canoe Camp RV Park

Orofino is located in one of Idaho's great areas for camping, fishing and hiking. While many people on the lookout for resorts in the area might want to go the hotel/ motel route, some want to be a little closer to nature and all the outdoor offerings found in Orofino. For them, the Canoe Camp RV Park allows visitors to the area the chance to feel like they're roughing it, but also offers many modern amenities. There are water, sewer, electricity and phone hook ups. Additional camp amenities include cable TV, a restroom/ shower, book exchange, gift shop, laundry facilities, espresso shop and a hair salon. In terms of area attractions, there's the Clearwater Steelhead Hatchery and Dworshak Dam and wildlife exhibits and photos at the Clearwater National Forest Visitors Center. Of course, if that isn't enough, park guests can always go hiking or mountain biking on one of Orofino's trails.

Trib's Place

Trib's Place is a resort with a twist. Not only is a this log home a lodge where people visiting Orofino can go to get away from it all, it's also a working photographer's studio owned by Bob Tribble. The lodge is decorated with photographs from Bob's travels. Additionally, there's facilities for indoor and outdoor photography, which means that in addition to the photos that visitors to the lodge might take for themselves, there's an onsite photographer who can record their stay. This coupled with the onsite great room makes this bed and breakfast an ideal place to hold weddings and other celebrations. However, wedding and non-wedding guests alike are just as likely to stay as Trib's Place because of the beautiful surroundings, privacy and nearness to Orofino and to the Lewiston/ Clarkston area. Each room is unique, but all feature queen-sized beds. Prices vary depending upon the room.
