A restaurant with live music is something that just cannot be replicated with a soundtrack or the local radio station in the background. The musician can feel the mood of the diners and provide a personal experience to the room. Or the band can bring out the flair of a foreign culture by providing a backdrop to well-known ethnic cuisine. While many might suspect Houston only has restaurant options with country music, in fact it offers a wide variety of restaurants with live music to match any taste.

Last Concert Cafe

The Last Concert Cafe features live music most nights of the week from local artists like Clory Martin and Leslie Newman, but on Mondays it opens up the stage for Open Mic Mondays. The schedule and acts vary, so call ahead or check online for the list of current performers.

Once you arrive, order a cerveza and enjoy the Mexican flavors from the kitchen. Tex-Mex favorites like Carol's cheese enchiladas can easily be found on the menu, but so can unexpected items like the pecan-crusted chicken breast with garlic mashed potatoes or Paul's tostada burger with refried beans and tortilla chips. The restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner as well as for brunch on Sundays.
