Phillips Crab House
Phillips got its start as a small carryout restaurant that sold crabs from the owner's father's company, A. E. Phillips & Son. The business grew into what it is today: a two-story building that has the capacity to handle 1,400 hungry people. Come early because Phillips Crab House is usually packed. The chances are good that you'll be in the mood for crabs, so the restaurant's large menu offers all of them in various forms. For example, you may start out with Phillips Crab & Spinach Dip, a Maryland crab classic served in a bread bowl. For your entree, you may order a dozen crabs that will be placed on your table that is covered with brown paper. Or you may wish to order something else with crab like Phillips premium all-lump crabcakes with a rich, buttery flavor, or Crab Imperial that's baked in a creamy imperial sauce and topped with cheddar cheese.
