Located 7 miles east of downtown Colorado Springs, you will find Peterson Air Force Base, with its mission to "conduct precise and disciplined missile warning, missile defense and space control operations." Call ahead and arrange for a free tour of the Peterson Air and Space museum, open Tuesday through Saturday. Stay in one of several budget motels nearby.

Stay at Value Place for an apartment-like environment featuring a one full-size bed, a dresser and nightstand, a full kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave and stove top, television with cable, dining table with two chairs and housekeeping every two weeks. The studio sleeps up to three people with a full-sized bed and a pullout sofa bed. The double room sleeps up to four with two full-sized beds. Use the 24-hour laundry room, located on the premises.
