Lake Travis, just outside Austin, was formed in 1941 with the completion of the Mansfield dam on the Colorado River. The hot summer weather and cool, crystal-clear waters of Lake Travis draw water sports enthusiasts of all walks to its banks every year. Cabins throughout the Texas Hill Country provide private, homey accommodation close to the Lake Travis fun.

The TreeHouse

The TreeHouse, in Cozy Cove near Lake Travis, offers a fully equipped kitchen and accommodation for two. The TreeHouse has its own private hiking trails, perfect for bird-watchers and nature lovers. Catfish and bass fishing areas are available, and the night skies, free from Austin's light pollution, make for fantastic stargazing. Special romance packages are available for special occasions.

Lost Parrot Cabins

The Lost Parrot Cabins, with their distinctly south-of-the-border decor, offer seven unique bungalows, each with a different theme. Each bungalow comes equipped with air conditioning, an electric fireplace, a patio with hammocks, a fully equipped kitchen and an entertainment system. When you get tired of the lake, an on-site pool and spa is open 24/7. Pets are welcome.

Cabin in the Woods at Lake Travis

Tucked away on a private half-acre plot, the aptly named Cabin in the Woods can accommodate four with a full kitchen, laundry facilities, entertainment center and air conditioning. Free high-speed Internet access and a nearby lakeside park with a boat ramp make the Cabin in the Woods a perfect place to work and play in the hot Texas summer. The cabin owner charters his 28.5 ft sailboat for up to six guests.
