The Kona Coast Resort sits on 21 acres along the historic Kona coast on the big island of Hawaii. Its location near shops and restaurants, golf courses, and the ocean, mean that there are numerous activities that guests can enjoy while staying in this condominium community.

Splash Resort Activities

Splash is the name given to all of the activities that are provided by the resort itself. Guests receive a schedule when they arrive, and they can choose from hula classes, lei making, snorkel training, water fitness, tennis clinics, ukulele classes, Hawaiian legends and language classes. Splash also provides guests with beach item rentals such as snorkels or boogie boards. The Splash office is at the main pool of the property. It is open seven days a week.

Kona Country Club Ocean Golf Course

This William Bell-designed golf course has panoramic mountain and ocean views. It is not unusual for golfers to spot humpback whales while playing. The course's most famous hole is probably No. 13, where the ocean makes a huge splash through the lava blow hole nearby. The course is more than just views, however. The LPGA selected "The Ocean Course" for events in both 2000 and 2001.

Snorkeling

Visit nearby Keauhou Bay and select one of the many snorkeling cruise outfits to enjoy some spectacular viewing of tropical fish with bright colors, coral reefs and ocean wildlife. The water in this ocean sanctuary area is noted for its clarity, and snorkelers often have visibility to 100 feet. The water is a warm 76 degrees, and the bay provides shelter from wind.
