Home of Bighorn National Forest and Big Horn Mountain, visitors to Buffalo, Wyoming, can find adventure with any one of the numerous fishing, hunting or hiking locations. Visit the town and take a historic Main Street walking tour or visit the old-fashioned carousel, miniature golf and ice cream parlor. Even in the cold, wintry months, there are ample opportunities for skiing, snowmobiling or snowshoeing--a little something for everyone.

The Historic Occidental Hotel

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Calamity Jane and Buffalo Bill Cody all stayed in what we know as the Historic Occidental Hotel. Named Best Hotel in the West by True West Magazine for two years in a row (2007 and 2008). The rooms are all decorated and embellished with antiques of the Old West, most of which are native to the hotel itself. Rates differ depending on room size and accommodations. You'll enjoy the atmosphere of the Old West with the luxury of modern times. Visit nearby attractions in town or relax in the hotel's saloon and admire bullet holes placed in the walls during the real Wild West days, preserved for your curiosity and adding authentic detail to the saloon.
