Ocracoke Island, North Carolina Hotels

Ocracoke Island, part of the Outer Banks and the Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina, has almost 16 miles of beaches, plus dunes and marshlands. The historic fishing village and island is reachable by either ferry, boat or plane from the mainland. It's simple to bike around the island and shops are often located within walking distance of local hotels.

The Ocracoke Harbor Inn

The Ocracoke Harbor Inn and guests' private decks look out onto Silver Lake Harbor. View wildlife from the inn, including otters, seagulls, herons and pelicans. Outdoor showers, charter fishing and grills are available. The inn has 16 rooms and seven suites as well as complimentary breakfast on the waterfront. Further amenities include satellite television, individual climate control, Jacuzzi or whirlpool, kitchenette and Internet access. Guests are able to dock their boats at no cost, as long as a prior reservation has been made.

Blackbeard's Lodge

Blackbeard's Lodge, off Highway 12, has 38 guest rooms, suites and even full apartments available to guests. The lodge's lobby includes a grand piano and a wood-burning stove circa the 1800's, and Internet is available in the common areas. Guests can lounge on the porch swing, swim in the pool or rent bicycles. The on-premise game room includes pool, air hockey, foosball, video games and board games. In-room amenities may include mini refrigerators, whirlpools and satellite television. Guests who are traveling by either boat or plane receive complimentary shuttle service to the harbor and airport. Boat tours, boat rentals and fishing are all near to the lodge. Pets are welcome in certain rooms.

Captain's Landing Hotel

Captain's Landing Hotel is located on the water, and the hotel's property is located on Highway 12 and Howard Street. Guests of Captain's Landing can watch the sunset from their private decks overlooking the water or view the lighthouse and village. Visitors can choose from suites, the penthouse and the cottage for their stay. Outdoor activities include grilling in the picnic area and bicycling. The hotel provides shuttle service to the air strip. Room amenities include kitchens, cable television, CD player, DVD and VCR, and Internet access.
