Bali, Indonesia, is part of the island nation, located between Java and Lombok. Bali is a popular tourist destination in Indonesia. Many species of tropical birds, plants and animals are native to the island, making it a common destination for bird-watchers and sun seekers. Bali's highest peak is Mount Agung, an active volcano. Coral reefs surround Bali, making scuba diving a popular activity for tourists to the island. There are several tour operators who run adventure camping trips on the island.

Ena Bali Adventures offers a two-night camping adventure to the Munduk waterfall, through the monkey forest at Wanagiri, and on toward Lake Beratan. Your camping area is near the Toya Bungkah and natural hot springs. You can soak in the springs after a day of trekking. All group camping gear (tents, cooking kits and sleeping pads) is provided. Meals and drinks are prepared and presented by the guides. Ena Bali recommends you bring a camera, rain gear, extra layer of clothing, solid hiking shoes and any small items and toiletries you may need while camping. Be prepared for hot, humid temperatures.

Bali Discovery Tours

Bali Discovery Tours offers a two-day Agro Camping Tour in Bagus Agro Pelaga. The trip takes you into the mountain range of Pucak Mangu. During the trip, you go to the Nungnung waterfall, bicycle to the Tihingan village and trek to Pucak Mangu and a farming course. All meals, drinks and group camping gear is provided. A sleeping pad is also provided. Bali Discovery Tours asks you bring extra clothing, camera, toiletries you may need while camping, a journal or small notebook and pen. Be prepared for hot, humid temperatures during the day and cooler temperatures at night.

Yogyakarta Camping Tours

The Indonesian-based travel agency Travellindo.com offers trekking and camping trips into Yokyakarta. Trips are booked on a custom basis and include all group camp gear and meals. Meals will be served according to Indonesian custom. Days are spent trekking in the Yokyakarta region with knowledgeable guides who can give interpretive talks about the birds, culture and flora of the area. Transportation between trekking sites is part of the tour. Bring a camera, all medicine and toiletries needed, a small journal and pen and extra clothing.
