Nevada is located in the Western region of the United States and borders California. Home to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Spring Mountain Range, the Mojave and Great Basin Deserts, the state offers many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, fishing, boating and viewing wildlife are some of the activities offered in the state. RV campers have many choices of campsites within the state.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort

Located in Las Vegas, the Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort offers campers a tropical-landscaped setting. The resort has 935 full hookup sites with 20-, 30- and 50-amp service as well as telephone access and cable TV. Large RVs will not have a problem finding a site.

The resort has a convenience store, a restaurant, a fitness center, lagoon-style pools, a spa, a dump station, propane sales, and pets are accepted. There is an 18-hole putting course on site as well. All sites have concrete pads lined with grass.

The resort is approximately 20 miles from Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, which has a 13-mile scenic drive where outdoor enthusiasts can hike, mountain bike, rock climb or view nature.

Valley of Fire State Park

The Valley of Fire State Park is located outside Overton, Nevada. The 36,000-acre park, which is located in the Mojave Desert, is picturesque with its red limestone formations and ancient petroglyphs. It is Nevada's largest and oldest park in the state park system.

There are two campgrounds with 73 sites. The Atlatl Rock campground offers modern restrooms, showers as well as power and water hookups. The Arch Rock campground is more suited for tent campers because it is more primitive and secluded. All sites have a shaded table, grills and are on a first-come, first-served basis. The park has a dump station, visitor's center and picnic area by historic stone cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.

The park has miles of hiking trails and opportunities for rock climbing. Lake Mead Recreation Area is located adjacent to the park where visitors can swim, fish, boat, hike or picnic.

Comstock County RV Resort

Located in Carson City, Nevada, Comstock County RV Resort offer campers 150 campsites with shade trees and a mountain view. Each site is full hookup with 50-amp service as well as free Wi-Fi and cable TV. Larger RVs can be accommodated.

The resort has a casino located next door as well as a laundry facility, an exercise room, restrooms, a clubhouse, a camping store, a pool, a spa, paved roads and on-site storage.

Lake Tahoe is approximately 16 miles west where visitors can enjoy snow skiing, hiking, kayaking, canoeing, fishing or viewing the area's wildlife.
