Bethlehem is a city in the Lehigh Valley in eastern Pennsylvania. Boating down the scenic Lehigh River or biking or hiking its riverside trails can work up an appetite. Bethlehem is experiencing a burgeoning restaurant scene, and less than a mile away from the river lie 3 great restaurants mastering Thai cuisine.

Thai Thai II

Thai Thai II is situated on Bethlehem's quaint Main Street. To start, try the Thai dumplings, stuffed with a mixture of pork, chicken, shrimp, and crabmeat, or the curry puffs. Then proceed to the vegetarian, seafood, and meat entrees, all of which are generously portioned and undeniably tasty.

The Cafe

With its covered front porch, The Cafe looks more like a welcoming home than an upscale eatery. Tucked away just off Main Street, this restaurant is easy to miss, save for the neon red sign glowing in the window. The chef is Thai, and infuses his classic cooking techniques with innovative, unexpected twists. The menu is a mixture of Thai and French dishes, with the option of having many of the French entrees prepared "Thai style" with curry sauce. During the warmer months, dine al fresco at a table on the covered porch.

Thai Kitchen

Follow the aroma of curries and simmering spices wafting through the air, and you'll find yourself at the door of Thai Kitchen, a small restaurant serving traditional Thai dishes for lunch and dinner. The menu offers vegetarian, meat and seafood entrees, with staples like Pad Thai and a variety of curries. The restaurant is BYOB, and guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol, without a corking fee. Located near Lehigh University on Bethlehem's south side, this spot is popular with both college students and locals.
