About 80 minutes by car east of Portland and three hours east of the Pacific Ocean coast is the town of Rhododendron. Parks and recreation enthusiasts will appreciate being located within walking distance of Mt. Hood National Forest, which has over one million acres worth of fishing, boating and hunting opportunities. Other attractions in a 20-mile radius include Pioneer Paintball Park, Alder Reservoir and Rainbow Trout Farm. Although no hotels are in Rhododendron, accommodations are available in adjacent towns.

Timberline Lodge

The Timberline Lodge is located east of Rhododendron, approximately 30 minutes by car, nestled in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Whispering Woods

The Whispering Woods Resort resides in the town of Welches, less than 10 minutes by car west of Rhododendron and surrounded by the Mt. Hood Golf Course. Within 20 miles of the hotel are attractions, recreation and restaurants featuring the Mt Hood Skibowl, Summit Ski Area, Rendezvous Grill, Wy'east Art Gallery and On the Edge Adventures, inclusive of opportunities to raft, backpack and rock climb.
