Henderson, Nevada, is a sister city to Las Vegas. But instead of the casinos, hotels and neon of the adjacent city that never sleeps, Henderson prides itself on its master-planned communities, parks and recreation facilities. The city has more than 270,000 residents and is Nevada's second-largest city. As for dining, visitors and locals can start the morning right with a meal at one of these restaurants known for serving breakfast.

Original Pancake House

The Original Pancake House features an expansive breakfast menu highlighted by more than a dozen different types of pancakes, from buckwheat and wheat germ to coconut, banana and Swedish. The restaurant, part of a national chain founded in 1953, also has a wide variety of other breakfast foods, from egg dishes to cereal and crepes. The restaurant is open daily beginning at 6 a.m.

Omelet House

This popular breakfast spot, with two Henderson locations, has more than three dozen different kinds of omelets, including a calorie-packed omelet (No. 38 on the menu) with sausage, bacon, ham, jack cheese and cheddar cheese. Omelets are made with six eggs, so they are best split between two people. The Omelet House is open daily beginning at 7 a.m.

International House of Pancakes

The veteran IHOP chain of breakfast restaurants has two locations in Henderson. Each serves traditional IHOP fare like T-bone steak and eggs, ham and cheese and spinach and mushroom omelettes, and of course signature IHOP pancakes like double blueberry and chocolate chip. Also on the menu are serveral different kinds of crepes, including chicken Florentine crepes and crepes stuffed with Nutella, a chocolate hazelnut spread popular in Europe.
