Southern Minnesota lined with several rivers, many lakes, as well as heavily forested areas, offers a vast assortment of outdoor activities for the enthusiast. The area offers opportunities for camping, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, tubing, canoeing, kayaking and enjoying nature. Visitors to the area have choices between basic and deluxe, when it comes to choosing their cabin accommodations.

Sakatah Bay Resort

Sakatah Bay Resort is located in south-central Minnesota in Waterville. The resort, situated on Lake Sakatah, offers various sized accommodations. Five single-room lakeside cabins include a refrigerator, microwave, cable TV, air conditioning and heat. Eight connecting room cabins offer two beds, refrigerator, microwave, cable TV, air conditioning and heat. Three two-room cabins include full kitchens, air conditioning, heat, patios and decks and gas grills. Four two-bedroom cabins offer full kitchens, patios and decks and gas grills.The resort offers a lakeside picnic area and grills, as well as boat rentals and a boat launch. Anglers can fish for bass, crappie, bullhead and northern pike in Lake Sakatah. Hikers and wildlife enthusiasts are within walking distance to Sakatah Lake State Park, which offers five miles of hiking trails and more fishing and boating opportunities.

Roberds Lake Resort & Campground

Roberds Lake Resort & Campground is located south of Faribault in southeastern Minnesota, on the southeast shoreline of 625-acre Roberds Lake. The resort offers one one-room cabin, eight two-bedroom cabins and one three-bedroom cabin. All cabins are furnished and include full kitchens, air conditioning, cable TV, all linens except towels,outside grills, picnic tables and fire rings. The resort also has a campground, playground and camp store that sells bait and tackle. Boaters and anglers can utilize the resort's boat launch for fishing, canoeing or kayaking the lake. The resort rents boats. Anglers can fish from the resort's fishing dock for bass, walleye, bullheads and northern pike.

Cedar Valley Resort

Cedar Valley Resort is located in Lanesboro in southeast Minnesota on the Root River. The resort is located on 30 wooded acres within a scenic and secluded valley and is open year-round. The resort offers two three-bedroom cabins, three four-bedroom cabins, one six-bedroom cabin and two eight-bedroom cabins. All cabins include full kitchens, air conditioning, fireplace and covered porch. The resort has a picnic area that includes tables, grills and a fire pit. The resort rents bikes, kayaks and tubes for floating the Root River. Anglers can fish for bass and trout at the resort, and the resort is within 10 miles of several other trout streams. Hikers can utilize the resort's various nature trails through the area.
