Mystic, Connecticut, home of the famous Mystic River bridge, is a historic New England town located along in the southeastern part of the state that features an eclectic mix of cuisine. Mystic Seaport has many different restaurants that will appeal to a wide variety of diners.

S&P Oyster Company

S&P Oyster Company is located in Mystic's quaint and historic shopping district and features the only riverfront restaurant with patio dining in the city. The white colonial-style building has a casual atmosphere. The interior decor features a lot of windows and yellow- and salmon-colored walls with white trim. The menu focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients and places a strong emphasis on seafood, such as seafood ambrosia, a dish featuring shrimp, sea scallops, crab and cod topped with a seafood stuffing and served with mashed potatoes and vegetables; and baked stuffed sole, which comes topped with a creamy lobster sauce, mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. Of course, you must try the oysters as well.

Bravo Bravo Restaurant

Bravo Bravo Restaurant is located in the heart of Mystic along Main Street. The restaurant has a sophisticated, lively atmosphere and its frequent crowds make it a popular draw on nights and weekends. The restaurant stands out on the street with its lovely white-trimmed building and interior featuring elegant wood tables and chairs, a mahogany wrap-around bar, dim hanging lights and black-trimmed painting adorning the neutral-colored walls. The menu focuses on a combination of pasta and seafood, with house specialties like lobster ravioli in a lobster chive sauce, champagne risotto with lobster and asparagus, and fusilli with shrimp in a sun-dried tomato vodka sauce.

Captain Daniel Packer Inne

Captain Daniel Packer Inne, or the "DPI" as locals call it, is housed in a building constructed in the mid-1700s. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and filled with old-world charm. The restaurant is reminiscent of a charming cottage, with wood-beamed ceilings, wood-trimmed windows with red curtains and a large fireplace with a white mantle. The menu relies on seasonal ingredients, with specialties like the veal homard, a pan-seared veal loin served with Maine lobster meat, shallots and shiitake mushrooms topped with a Madeira demi glace and truffle oil, as well as the lemon peppered chicken, a battered chicken breast coated with breadcrumbs, lemon zest and cracked pepper that is pan sautéed and served with lemon beurre blanc.

Azu

Azu is one of the top restaurants in Mystic. Azu was voted New London County's "best new restaurant" in 2007 by Connecticut Magazine and The New York Times calls Azu a "noisy, boisterous, jam-packed eatery." The ambiance is casual, energetic and hip and the bar is a place to see and be seen in Mystic. The interior decor features a long bar, warm color scheme on the walls and an eclectic mix of artwork on the walls. The menu focuses on tapas-style dishes and classic American fare. Popular menu choices include the shrimp fritters and barbecue ribs from the tapas menu and the chicken breast and pork tenderloin entrees. The restaurant has an extensive wine list as well.
