Idaho attracts over 20 million tourists each year to its "emerald green hillsides, timbered mountains and pristine lakes," according to the state's department of commerce. Some of Idaho's numerous attractions include state parks for hiking, amusement parks, ski resorts, 3,100 miles of rivers for rafting, lakes for fishing and boating, and mountain biking. There are many full-service resorts across Idaho that offer comfortable accommodations with convenient access to outdoor activities year round.

The Coeur d'Alene Resort

The Coeur d'Alene Resort features suites and guest rooms with lake or mountain views, providing guests with "an upscale residential atmosphere," says the resort's website. On the shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene, guests have access to a lakefront paved boardwalk, beaches, jet ski rentals and a 200-acre golf course with the world's only floating green. Standard guest room amenities include flat-screen televisions, bathrobes, Internet access, coffee makers and mini-bars. Suites feature sunken living areas with picture windows and oversized baths with granite-topped sinks. Dine on-site at a five-star restaurant, a lakeside cafe, a bistro with a sushi bar, Italian casual fare, a floating seafood restaurant and a crab shack with lake views. The 140-acre lakefront resort also features a 15,000-square-foot, full-service spa. The Coeur d'Alene Resort is located 33 miles east of Spokane, Washington and is easily accessible via Interstate 90.

Tamarack Resort

The Tamarack Resort is located about 90 miles north of Boise, and provides accommodations in a full-service lodge, townhomes, cottages, chalets and resort homes. The Lodge at Osprey Meadows overlooks a golf course and nearby Lake Cascade, and features a Nordic and snowshoe center, a spa, fitness center, two pools and a hot tub. Room options at the lodge include rooms with up to three bedrooms, gas fireplaces, kitchens, washers and dryers, and balconies with mountain views. Winter recreation at the resort includes skiing and snowboarding at "The Mountain's" 41 runs, serviced by seven lifts. Summer recreation includes golf, lake activities, zip-lining, hiking and mountain biking. Five restaurants are housed at Tamarack, as well as a market and pastry bar. Shuttle service from the Boise airport is provided for resort guests with an additional fee.

The Lodge at Sandpoint

With 600 feet of Lake Pend Oreille beachfront, the state's largest lake, The Lodge at Sandpoint features 24 suites and studios, as well as three rustic cabins. Rooms include refrigerators, microwaves, cable television and Internet access. Guests have free use of the resort's hot tubs, fitness room and the reading room with a fireplace. Spend the day on the lake fishing, boating, parasailing and kayaking, or visit in the winter to ski at Schweitzer Mountain and use the state's only six-person, high-speed lift. The Lodge at Sandpoint is located in northern Idaho, approximately 30 miles east of Washington.
