Lakeside Resorts in Washington State

The state of Washington contains several lakes throughout its boundaries. Since the state has a wide variety of climates, with the west containing a marine climate and the east being more of an arid environment, each of these lakes provides a different atmosphere dependent upon its location. Resorts dot many of these lakes, all which are near a variety of hiking opportunities.

Lake Crescent Lodge

Built in 1916 as the first modern era construction project in Olympic National Park, Lake Crescent Lodge is situated along the shores of Lake Crescent, providing beautiful views and ample access to the park. Open from May until October, the lodge provides 52 rooms in eight separate types, including the historic Roosevelt Cottage. Rooms can fit up to six guests. The Lake Crescent Lodge is near various hiking trails and provides access to boating and fishing activities. The closest town is Port Angeles, which is 20 miles from the lodge.

Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes

Situated along the shores of the Three Lakes, Lakedale Resort is located on San Juan Island. It can be reached via ferry or by a float plane to San Juan from the Seattle mainland. The resort includes a variety of stay options, including the main lodge, a log cabin, canvas cabins or camping in the warmer months of the year. There are also meeting rooms for those wishing to do business at the resort. A business rate is available and team retreats are encouraged. The resort is near several trails and paths and there is access to boating and fishing. Prices for the resort vary throughout the year, but for the best rates, there are specials during the middle of the week. The Lakedale Resort has a special that includes guided tours through the trails around the lodge.

Lake Chelan Shores

The Lake Chelan Shores is located on the very banks of the lake that provides its name. The resort is open year-round on the north shore of the third-deepest lake in the country, providing guests with numerous amenities beyond the natural scenic beauty of the region. The room options range from a one- or two-bedroom suite to a loft. Each unit includes a fireplace, DVD player and a barbecue. The resort is on Lake Chelan, with a private boat ramp and dock available for use by hotel patrons. It is near the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area, which includes multiple trails that lead into the North Cascades National Park. Prices for the Lake Chelan Shores vary based on the seasons.
