Parks in Ennis, Montana
Ennis is located in southwest Montana within the county of Madison and is nicknamed "The Fly-Fishing Capital of The World." Surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, Beaverhead National Forest and the Madison River flowing just east of town, Ennis offers many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy hiking, fishing, boating and viewing wildlife. There are three parks located in the Ennis area, with facilities for picnicking, camping, fishing, kayaking and canoeing.

Ennis State Park

Ennis State Park is located 1/2 mile southeast of Ennis on the banks of the upper Madison River. The state-operated park offers primitive campsites with a picnic table and fire ring; RVs may be a maximum of 25 feet. The park features restrooms and a gravel boat ramp for those wishing to canoe or kayak the river. The campground is open May through November.

Meadow Lake Fishing Access Site

Six miles north of Ennis and situated on the 3,000-acre Ennis Lake is Meadow Lake Fishing Access Site. The state-operated park encompasses 6 acres of woodlands. The park is open year-round and offers primitive campsites, which include a picnic table, fire ring and maximum RV length of 25 feet. The park has restrooms and a beach for swimming in the lake. There is a put-in site for canoes or kayaks. Hikers can walk along the lakeshore.

Ennis Lion's Club Park

Ennis Lion's Club Park, operated by the Lion's Club, is located six miles north of town. This popular local park is the home to many local events and celebrations. The park has a playground, picnic area, restrooms and ball field. Hikers and nature enthusiasts can utilize the walking trail along the Madison River.
