The Eastern Shore of Maryland is a quaint region comprised of friendly villages with small-town charm. There are a number of local eateries here, along with antique stores and shops selling the work of local artisans. This, along with the recreation opportunities provided by the Chesapeake Bay, has caused the Eastern Shore to become a popular tourist destination, and is home to various waterfront hotels catering to these travelers.

The Tilghman Island Inn

The Tilghman Island Inn is on Tilghman Island and most guest rooms offer panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay. This hotel has a swimming pool, tennis court and allows guests to rent kayaks and small motorboats. In addition, the hotel provides maps of the bike paths that cut across the area. Fishing, sailing trips and eco-tours on the Bay can be found within minutes of the Inn. An on-site spa offers Swedish and deep-tissue massages. A restaurant on-site is known for its fresh local cuisine and seafood directly from the Bay, and for its wine list, which for several years has won a "Wine Spectator" award.

Great Oak Manor

The Great Oak Manor features deluxe accommodations and is approximately 30 minutes from Chestertown, Maryland, the nearest city. Rooms are decorated richly in various themes, and most have a view of the Bay. As villages on the Eastern Shore can be somewhat isolated, this hotel does not have a great number of commercial recreation in the immediate vicinity, but it is less than an hour to charter boats, horseback riding, hunting and antique shops and art galleries. The hotel has a music room featuring live performances on many evenings. Also offered are five-course dining packages that includes paired wines and port and sherry in the library, post-dinner. A full breakfast buffet is offered every morning. The hotel can accommodate weddings, groups and corporate getaways.
