Gladwin is located in central Michigan, an area with several lakes and rivers running through it. Cedar River meanders through Gladwin along its city park. The river includes a sand beach for swimming and a riverside path used for hiking. With its remote riverside location and its own state park, the Gladwin State Park, this town has a good selection of campgrounds.

Gladwin City Park and Campground is located in Gladwin along the Cedar River. Its riverside location gives campers access to the sand beach and hiking trails along the river. Campers can also take advantage of the onsite playground, tennis courts and basketball courts. Sixty campsites include electrical outlets, fire rings and access to a dump station and restrooms with modern toilets and hot showers. A pavilion may be rented for group functions--the pavilion includes picnic tables, a private bathroom, a small kitchenette with refrigerator and sink, a charcoal grill, sandbox, horseshoe pits, basketball court and a field for softball or baseball.

Sugar Springs Campground

Sugar Springs Campground is located in a recreation community around two lakes, Lake Lancer and Lake Lancelot. Boat docks, beaches and restrooms are situated all along the shores of the lakes. Other onsite amenities include an 18-hole golf course, playground, ice skating pond, sledding hill, an indoor swimming pool and tennis, basketball and bocce ball courts. The campground offers 35 sites with electric hookups, picnic tables, fire pits and access to a dump station and heated shower and restroom facilities. Restroom and shower facilities are located in a chalet with a warming room and fireplace.

River Valley RV Park

River Valley RV Park is located in Gladwin amongst an Amish community. Campers can choose from 100 grassy campsites with water and electrical hookups, a picnic table, fire pit and access to modern restrooms with hot showers. Sewer sites are available by request. Guests also have use of a private lake with a sand beach, club room, laundry facilities, camp store, picnic shelters, arcade, bumper boats, paddle boats, kayaks, playground areas, horseshoe pits and volleyball, shuffleboard and basketball courts.
