As a traveler, whether you desire breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean, a scenic river view or rolling hills and days on world-class golf courses, hotels or resorts in North Carolina provide venues to meet the most discriminating of tastes.

Wilmington's Hilton Riverside

Situated on the waterfront in downtown Wilmington, the Wilmington Hilton Riverside offers spectacular views of the Cape Fear River. The hotel looks out on the USS North Carolina Battleship across the river and is across from the Old Cotton Exchange, home to numerous shops for browsing. Guests are within easy walking distance of numerous area attractions, including fine restaurants and walk-in cafes, some overlooking the historic Cape Fear.

The hotel has 272 guest rooms, many overlooking the Cape Fear River. Rooms in the newer section have a better view of the Battleship. Amenities include a 24-hour fitness center and business center, abundant meeting space for conferences, an outdoor pool overlooking the river, premium cable television, high-speed Internet, coffee maker, desk chairs and work desk. Evening room service is available. A snack bar, juice bar and restaurant are on the premises, with an additional on-site Ruth's Chris Steak House with wide river views.

Take a Riverboat Cruise, old-fashioned trolley ride with the Wilmington Trolley Company, Segway Tour (lessons available) or a walking tour of beautiful historic homes and buildings. The Wilmington Railroad Museum houses a wealth of artifacts and educational exhibits for history buffs.

Wilmington is within easy driving distance of championship golf courses. Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach and Kure Beach are less than 20 miles away and offer boating, surfing, fishing, beachcombing and seafood restaurants galore. Bicyclists will enjoy downtown Wilmington, but for a real treat, try driving 15 miles to Fort Fisher Civil War Museum. Be sure to take a picnic lunch, eat at a picnic area on the Atlantic Ocean and bike down to where the Cape Fear River joins the Atlantic Ocean.
