Norfolk, Nebraska is situated in the Elkhorn River Valley, northwest of Omaha, and lies north of the Elkhorn River as it meanders from west to east across Madison County. The city has twelve parks with various recreational opportunities. The Cowboy Trail begins in Norfolk and runs east 321 miles to Chadron. Many of the city's hotels are close to these attractions.

The Norfolk Lodge is three to four miles from the main parks and other attractions in Norfolk but has plenty of on-site activities for the active traveler. You can play miniature golf, practice on a golf driving range, exercise on cardio equipment, swim in the indoor pool, or soak in the hot tub. All of the rooms have free Internet service, a mini-fridge and a microwave. Guests do not have to leave the Lodge property to dine. Italian cuisine is offered at the Veranda and lighter fare is served at the Sand Bar and Grill.

The New Victorian Inn and Suites offers the visitor a room furnished with a micro-fridge, microwave and Wi-Fi. Indoor activities include swimming in the indoor pool and using the hot tub. Breakfast includes 26 menu items. Guests can choose from different room types including suites with a whirlpool. The Inn is one mile from Central Park with its two tennis courts and wading pools for young children. It is just over a mile from the Elkhorn Valley Museum and the Norfolk Arts Center.

The Inn has an outdoor heated swimming pool. TaHaZouka Park, where the Cowboy Trail officially begins, is one mile away. This park also has an off-leash dog area, a 19-hole disc golf course, a fishing platform on a lagoon, and a canoe launching site on the Elkhorn River.

The Hampton Inn of Norfolk has 75 rooms available. Among the amenities are an indoor pool, a whirlpool, and a fitness room. Guests have access to Wi-Fi service as well as free high speed Internet service. The Inn is under two miles from Skyview Park which has over two miles of hiking and biking trails, a fishing pier and boat ramps, an arboretum, and the second of the city's disc golf courses. The Inn is also less than two miles from TaHaZouka Park and Central Park.
