Like most larger cities, Dayton, Ohio, offers many family-friendly and youth activities. Whether your child enjoys athletic activities, has an artistic streak or just wants to play, Dayton has a wide variety of youth programs and facilities. Many of Dayton's family activities are low-cost or even free, making them accessible to everyone.

All American Youth Activities of Ohio and Ground Level Martial Arts

The mission of All American Youth Activities is to provide low-cost recreational sports programs to children. Its location in Dayton is also home to Ground Level Martial Arts, a facility offering training in several Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) disciplines.

For very reasonable fees, children can participate in specialized programs for activities ranging from tumbling and cheerleading to karate and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Programs are also available for adults.

Dominick Lofino Park

The 36-acre Dominick Lofino Park is home to one of the Dayton area's highest rated playgrounds. It includes play areas for both preschool-age children as well as older children. Facilities also include a skate park, basketball courts, a softball diamond and tennis courts.

Restrooms are on site, as well as a large pavilion for shady picnics overlooking the park's seven-acre lake. During the summer months, the park's amphitheater is home to a series of free public concerts as well.

K12 Gallery for Young People

The K12 Gallery for Young People provides art classes for children of all ages. Classes range from single-day workshop events to weekly programs to summer art camp. Children receive instruction in a wide variety of art disciplines from a talented and diverse staff. Among the artists on staff are painters, jewelry makers, sculptors and print makers. K12 is also available to host special events such as birthday parties or class field trips.
