Chowder Bowl at Nye Beach
This popular local hangout has an unexpected healthful twist--all of its dishes are prepared with trans-fat free oil so you can enjoy fish and chips, oysters and chips, burgers and even desserts such as bread pudding with hard sauce guilt-free, but the clam chowder is the biggest draw here. Thick and creamy, it was featured on the "Today Show" and in Coastal Living magazine.

Mo's Restaurant
Mo's is no newcomer. The restaurant has been a fixture in the town since a scrappy Newport mother, Mohava Marie Niemi, opened it in 1946. Mo went on to host a popular local radio show and helped establish the town's friendly reputation. The modestly priced menu consists of seafood favorites such as clam chowder, calamari strips and prawn skewers. You can dine in the original Mo's or try the annex, which is across the street and overlooks the bay.
