Cantina Bentivoglio

Cantina Bentivoglio has existed for more than 50 years in the Palazzo Bentivoglio. It started out as a wine warehouse that supplied wine to families around Bologna who couldn't produce their own wines. In 1982, it began operating as a cantina and also served as a jazz venue for local musicians as well as a wine bar. The walls of the restaurant feature contemporary works by Italian artists. The restaurant itself can seat up to 250 diners, but it also has a meeting room that can accommodate up to 50 guests at a time. Professional pasta makers prepare pastas such as tortelloni, tortellini and tagliatelle, and the staff prepares the famous Bolognese ragu sauce with tagliatelle or lasagne daily as well. Specialties include bruschetta with olive oil, basil and fresh pomodoro, carpaccio and numerous Bolognese dishes. Desserts include chocolate torte, gelatos, and other creamy Italian sweets. The wine cellar boasts a complete stock with over 400 labels, including French, Californian, Australian and New Zealand wine aside from Italian wine. The restaurant features live jazz entertainment every day.
