The Holiday Inn on Hillsborough Street is located close to some of the most popular attractions in Raleigh. Research Triangle Park is eight miles away, Raleigh's Business District is roughly one mile away, and North Carolina State University is only two blocks from the hotel. The popular Cameron Village, with over 30 different dining options and over 100 stores, is also within walking distance.

Just as the hotel's location provides visitors multiple activities, the Holiday Inn offers many conveniences in the guest rooms. Free newspapers are delivered daily, each room is equipped with cable television and in-room movies, and the suites are equipped with microwaves and small refrigerators. Several amenities are available for all guests. For example, a 24-hour fitness center is available for a nominal fee, dry-cleaning/laundry pick-up is provided, and the hotel's has a business center with a printer, fax machines, and wireless Internet access. An outdoor pool is open most of the day, and children eat free.

Clarion Hotel State Capitol

The Clarion Hotel State Capitol boasts close proximity to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds, Exploris Interactive Museum, North Carolina University, Shaw University, and the Raleigh Convention Center. The Raleigh-Durham International Airport is only 13 miles from the hotel. The hotel was so named because it is several blocks away from the state capitol. With regard to amenities, the smoke-free Clarion offers complimentary Internet access, free newspapers on weekdays, and copy and fax machines in the business center. Guests can make use of the fitness center, meeting rooms capable of holding up to 300 people, and a boardroom located on the top floor of the hotel. The 20th floor of the hotel is home to a restaurant and lounge area that provides a panoramic view of Raleigh.

Velvet Cloak Inn & Villas

The Velvet Cloak Inn & Villas is a hotel that offers modern amenities with the feel of a smaller and quaint inn. Much of the furnishing is made of dark woods, giving a comforting feel to the hotel. The rooms are equipped with a variety of amenities. Balconies, voice mail, cable television, safety deposit boxes and triple-sheeted beds await guests. Additionally, the hotel offers an on-site bar (Barons Bar), conference room, fax machines, daily newspapers in the lobby, an indoor swimming pool, and a patio. The hotel is close to several different activities. Golfing is about three miles away, a lake is just over four miles away (boat rentals and fishing area are available), a sauna is adjacent to the hotel, and a salon is a mile and a half from the hotel.

In addition to all of its amenities, the Velvet Cloak Inn offers something for frequent or long-term visitors of Raleigh. Velvet Cloak has condominiums or villas in downtown Raleigh that are available for short-term leases. The villas come in different sizes, ranging from studio-size to 2,400 square feet.
