South Dakota offers outdoor enthusiasts an abundance of activities. Take a hike in the Black Hills of western South Dakota or fish the glacial lakes of the eastern part of the state. Getting to all these great excursions may be a bit of a challenge, there are several airport choices across the state.

Rapid City Regional Airport

South Dakota offers several airports to fly in or out of; one of the busiest airports is the Rapid City Regional Airport. This airport offers flyers gift shops, restaurants, conference rooms and Smart Carts for all of your outdoor gear. The Smart Carts are available for $2.00 and you receive $.25 upon return. Parking at the airport is offered by the hour or long-term. Looking for a shuttle, try the Airport Express Shuttle, or one of the convenient shuttles to and from the hotel where you may be staying. The airport also offers rental car services; visit any of the car agency kiosks for rates. Many large airlines fly to and from Rapid City Regional Airport including American Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta and Frontier Airlines. The airport also offers flying lesions and private airplane rentals.

Sioux Falls Regional Airport

Three airlines fly to and from Sioux Falls Regional Airport: Delta, United and Allegiant Air, serving more than 200 domestic cities and international connections. The airport offers kiosks for all major car rental companies as well as Rapp Chevrolet, which offers off-site car rentals. The airport offers guests free Wi-Fi in the airport terminal as well as several gift shops and food choices. Parking at the Sioux Falls Regional Airport is located adjacent to the terminal and has hourly rates ranging from just $1.00 to long term parking at $30.00 a week, metered parking is also an option if you are just dropping off or picking up a passenger .

Aberdeen Regional Airport

The Aberdeen Regional Airport is a small airport, which is only served by Delta Airlines. Quest Aviation offers charter services as well as flight instruction and aircraft rental. Another flight option is the Aberdeen Flying Service. The small company offers lessons as well as aircraft sales. The Aberdeen Regional Airport offers three rental car kiosks, Avis, Hertz and Payless Car Rental. The airport also provides free parking to all visitors and passengers, including long-term parking.
