Kamloops Energy Fair
Kids who are into science and taking care of the environment are in for a treat with the energy fair in Kamloops. This annual fair is a community-based event that promotes energy awareness. More than 1,500 people come to look for energy solutions. In addition to solutions and workshops, you can walk through an area where students display school projects highlighting sustainable energy. There is also a kid's corner where young children get hands-on learning experiences about energy.

McArthur Island Park
Head over to McArthur Island Park on the north bank of the Thompson River to watch soccer, golf, baseball, football and cricket games. When you're done watching, play some sports yourself on the park's playing field, bicycle paths, BMX track, walking trails and golf course. If the weather is bad, head into the indoor sports center. The park is filled with beautiful flora and fauna. You might even notice some marmots. One particularly popular activity in the park is skateboarding. The Kamloops Skatepark is considered a concrete paradise. Its 4-foot quarterpipes along upper decks encourage maximum speed and smooth flow. You might even get to watch skaters on a pro tour.

In addition to the regular activities, the park also has a spring nature fair, a summer festival with birds of prey demonstrations along with animal feedings and a wildlife celebration for the winter holidays.
