Lupine Betty 7
Lupine's Betty 7 headlight claims a monstrous 1500 lumens of output from its seven Seoul P4 LED lights, with a single-charge run time ranging from three hours at its brightest setting to a full week at its lowest setting. Mountain Biking UK's Guy Kesteven lauded the Betty 7's "super-broad shotgun spread that lights up absolutely everything," noting that its reach was "fantastic."
Exposure Maxx D
Exposure's Maxx D provides 960 lumens of power through four Seoul LED lights in a simple, cable-free package. With a body that houses the battery as well as the light, users don't have to deal with cumbersome cables unless they choose to add peripheral accessories. A lithium-ion battery ranges from three hours on Maxx setting to 24 hours on Low, and a mode indicator and fuel gauge warn riders when the power is low. BikeRadar technical editor James Huang praised the Maxx D for its beam, which "blankets a wide swathe of trail ahead of you in bright, white light" and gives riders a view of what's around the next turn.
Light & Motion Seca 900
Light & Motion's Seca 900 light boasts 900 lumens of light in a svelte 240-oz. package. A four-cell lithium-ion battery provides up to 100 hours of light, and both the light and battery mounts are handlebar- and helmet-compatible. Bicycling.com's Ron Koch noted the light's convenient, tool-free mounting systems and praised the light's beam, which he said provides "so much light that most trails can be ridden at speeds at or very near daytime velocities."
