Chicago is a city encompassing 237 square miles, where visitors can find 26 miles of lakefront, 552 parks, hundreds of theaters and more than 7,300 restaurants. Chicago restaurants range from neighborhood hot dog stand to the Signature Room on the 95th floor of the John Hancock building. In between those two extremes, Chicago has restaurants and steak houses to suit the tastes of any visitor.

Gino's East

One of the most famous things about Chicago is its unique style of pizza. Chicago pizza is a thick, tomato-laden affair, usually strewn with numerous additional ingredients on top. Gino's East, located around the corner from Michigan Avenue on East Superior Street, is one of Chicago's most popular pizza restaurants, and an excellent representation of Chicago-style deep-dish pizza.

Gino's pizza, served since 1966, has proved so popular that it is now sold frozen by mail. Those visiting in person, however, will experience the added bonus of Gino's grotto-like ambiance, including the wood fixtures into which generations of visitors have scratched their initials.
