NoMI Restaurant‎

NoMI Chicago is a high-end French restaurant located in the seventh floor of the Park Hyatt Hotel, offering excellent views of North Michigan Avenue. The main dining room serves larger multicourse meals, the lounge features more casual fare, the garden is an outdoor area serving small plates and the cellar specializes in wines. Though based in the French tradition, dinner at NoMI can include elements from a variety of cuisines such as sushi, Maine lobster, black truffle risotto, bouillabaisse and roasted sweetbreads. The restaurant has earned praise from Zagat, Wine Spectator magazine, Chicago Magazine and Forbes.com, which in 2007 called NoMI "one of the top 10 power dining spots in the world."

Gino's East

One of the most famous things about Chicago is its unique style of pizza. Chicago pizza is a thick, tomato-laden affair, usually strewn with numerous additional ingredients on top. Gino's East, located around the corner from Michigan Avenue on East Superior Street, is one of Chicago's most popular pizza restaurants, and an excellent representation of Chicago-style deep dish pizza. Gino's pizza, served since 1966, has proved so popular that it is now sold frozen by mail. Those visiting in person, however, will experience the added bonus of Gino's grotto-like ambiance, including the wood fixtures into which generations of visitors have scratched their initials.
