An island country located southeast of Australia, New Zealand is a popular destination for luxury world cruises. Its most popular cruise ports, which include Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Picton, are often paired on cruise itineraries with port stops in Thailand, China, Vietnam, the Mediterranean, Hawaii, the West Coast of the United States and Australia. Journeys can last anywhere from 12 to 162 nights.

Crystal Cruise Lines

Crystal Cruises' Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony both sail on themed, luxury-class cruises to New Zealand's various seaside ports. Crystal Serenity sails to New Zealand's port of Auckland in 12-, 16- and 110-night trips from the port of Los Angeles, Tahiti's port of Papeete, or round-trip out of Auckland, New Zealand. Popular destination ports include New Zealand's Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton and Picton, and cruises are available in January and February.

The Crystal Symphony sails on one-way, 12-night journeys out of Sydney, Australia, or Auckland, with stops along the way in Napier, Wellington, Picton, Lyttelton and Tauranga ports. Journeys on the Symphony have themes such as "Kangaroos and Kiwis" and "Vineyards and Fjords." Cruises are available only in March.

Cunard Cruise Lines

Cunard Cruise line's Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary II are luxury liners that sail to New Zealand and other worldwide destinations. The Queen Elizabeth sails on a one-way, 103-night "World Voyage" out of United Kingdom's Southampton, with stops along the way in New Zealand's Auckland and Wellington. The Queen Elizabeth "World Voyage" is available in January, with a final destination in the port of Lisbon, Spain. Other countries visited include China, Greece, Mexico and Hawaii.

Cunard's Queen Mary II sails on a similar World Voyage-themed cruise with a 103-night, one-way journey from New York City to Southampton, United Kingdom. Passengers make port stops in Auckland, as well as various other ports in Australia, China and Vietnam. The cruise departs yearly in January.

Regent Seven Seas Cruise Lines

Luxury cruises to New Zealand are offered on the Seven Seas Navigator and the Seven Seas Voyager, which are ships in the Regent Seven Seas fleet. The Seven Seas Navigator offers 15-, 20-, 35-, 36-, 56-, 58-, 76-, 77-, 83-, 95- and 103-night voyages to ports in New Zealand and other world destinations. Ports include Sydney in Australia, Vancouver in British Columbia, Seward in Alaska, Beijing in China, Laem Chabang in Thailand, or a one-way offered out of Auckland. Cruises on the Seven Seas Voyager include port stops in New Zealand's ports of Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, Tauranga and Auckland, with final destinations in San Francisco or Auckland. Cruises are available from September through December, and additional countries visited include Hawaii, Australia, China and Vietnam.

The Seven Seas Voyager travels to New Zealand in 15-, 25-, 41-, 66-, 86-, 111-, 131-, 145- and 162-night itineraries out of San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., or one-way journeys out of Auckland. New Zealand ports visited include Auckland, Tauranga, Wellington and Lyttelton, with final destination cities including Southampton in the United Kingdom, Sydney in Australia, San Francisco, Beijing, Laem Chabang in Thailand, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Civitavecchia in Italy, or Auckland. Cruises aboard the Seven Seas Voyager depart from December through February.
