Concord, Massachusetts is rich in American history. It is where the first shots were fired in the American Revolution and was home to famous authors such as Louisa May Alcott, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathaniel Hawthorne. Concord also offers plenty for the outdoor enthusiast. The Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge offers visitors a chance for hiking and bird watching. Concord's Colonial Inn

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Concord's Colonial Inn was first built in 1716 and has been operating as a hotel since 1889. The hotel overlooks Monument Square and Henry David Thoreau lived at the inn during his years at Harvard. Each room comes equipped with free wireless Internet, air conditioning and cable TV. The Best Western at Historic Concord is within 10 miles of Minuteman National Park and Walden Pond where visitors can enjoy hiking, boating and biking. Close to downtown Concord, the hotel is also close to several shops and restaurants. All rooms come with free wireless Internet and cable TV. North Bridge Inn

Originally built as a home in 1885, the building has also been a women's clothing store and eventually turned into an inn in 1993. The North Bridge Inn is in downtown Concord and is within walking distance of the Main Street shopping district. Also nearby is the Battle Road Trail. All six rooms come equipped with wireless Internet access, LCD TVs with DVD, tiled baths and kitchens. A full breakfast is included in the room rate. In-room massages are also available.
