Shady Point Cottage Resort
Located on the banks of the Kawartha lakes, Shady Point Cottage Resort is just a short walk from downtown Buckhorn. Play a game of badminton, volleyball, basketball or horseshoes or spend the day on the water. Free wireless Internet access is provided on site. Open from May through October, every one of the cottages at Shady Point includes an indoor, private bathroom, outdoor fire pit, outdoor full-size barbecue, hot and cold running water, a propane furnace, a fully-equipped kitchen with microwave and a sun deck. A television can be added to any cottage for a fee, and although linens and towels are not included in the initial rental cost, they are available for an additional fee.

Westwind Inn Resort
Featuring extensive perennial gardens and more than 1,200 feet of shoreline, the Westwind Inn is situated on a 60 acre estate on the shores of the Kawartha lakes. Soak in the hot tub, indulge in a massage, take a boat out on the lake, hike one of the trails, or swim a lap in the pool during your stay. In the evening, sample a beef, pork, pasta, chicken or fish dish at the on-site Treetops Dining Room. Decorated in the log cabin, lodge style, all 35 rooms at the Westwind Inn feature a private bathroom, separate seating area, color television, fireplace and private balcony with a view of the area. Some rooms also have a Jacuzzi bathtub and a mini refrigerator. Linens and towels for in-room use are provided by the resort.
