Campgrounds near New Boston, Texas

In the northern corner of east Texas, New Boston is a small town close to the Arkansas border. There are many activities in the area, from boating and fishing on Wright Patman Lake to exploring the town's outdoor areas like Tapp Park and Scrapp Miller Park, where you can go for a jog or a picnic. If you're visiting the area in your RV or with tents, there are several campgrounds close to New Boston.

Texarkana KOA

Just off I-30, a few minutes' drive east of New Boston, you will find the Texarkana KOA, which has primitive tent sites, RV sites and camping cabins with all the amenities. There are 42 full hook-up RV sites that include water, sewer, and 30- or 50-amp electric service. Cable television connection is also offered with your stay, and there is free wireless Internet access throughout the park. There's plenty to keep the whole family busy at this campground, from swimming in its outdoor pool to enjoying nature as you walk along the Wildscape Trail that surrounds the Texarkana KOA. There also are outdoor showings of classic movies nightly at the campground store.

Shady Pines RV Park

The Shady Pines RV Park is a few miles east of New Boston, and it has 48 RV sites, many of which are pull-throughs. The campground's streets are all paved and the sites are concrete pads. Each site has full hook-ups that include water, sewer, phone, cable TV, and 30- or 50-amp electric service. Bring along your fishing poles to take advantage of Shady Pines RV Park's on-site pond that is stocked with bass, catfish and brim, and no fishing license is required if you are staying at the park. There also is an activity building that has a full kitchen, big-screen TV, showers, and laundry facilities.

Clear Springs Campground

On the north shore of Wright Patman Lake, Clear Springs Campground is a short drive southeast of New Boston. Tall pine trees surround the campground, and some sites are on the water. You'll find primitive tent sites, as well as hard-surface RV sites with full hook-ups that include water, sewer and electric service. Each space includes a grill, picnic table, utility table, and trash receptacle. You'll also find a playground, volleyball court and horseshoe pits at the Clear Springs Campground, and if you're bringing along your boat, there is a launch within the facility. For a relaxing afternoon, head to the campground's beach and swim in Wright Patman Lake.
