Conway is the largest town in Carroll County, New Hampshire. It has a population of a little under 9,000 people. The area is largely a mountainous region, which makes it a popular attraction for skiing, hiking and outdoor-themed vacations. There are also vast parks and historic villages in the vicinity. If you find yourself in need of a good meal after a day out in nature, there are several seafood restaurants in the area.

Jonathon's Seafood Restaurant

Jonathon's Seafood Restaurant combines quality seafood and customizable meals. Lobster is one of the favorites from the menu and customers can decide just how much they want of it. They can elect to have a whole one or settle for a lobster pie. Diners can also make their own meal combination by choosing any two or three of the available shell fish. The side order menu is extensive and provides multiple ways to compliment your main course. Various kinds of shrimp, oysters, scallops and calamari are just some of the items available. The calamari is breaded and deep fried and served with a side of marinara sauce. Guests can opt for a sit down dinner or order take out.

The Lobster Trap

The Lobster Trap has been providing quality seafood for the people of Conway since 1958. The restaurant is currently run by the Cuccio family who bring a taste of Italy to the menu. The signature dish here is the Italian seafood platter. It combines king crab legs, haddock, clams, lobster claws and jumbo shrimp sauteed with marinara and served over linguine. Another favorite is the "lobster saute" or the "lazy man's lobster." This dish takes the choice portions of the lobster and marinates them in lemon, butter and garlic. In addition to seafood, steaks and pasta dishes are also available.

The Chowder House

The Chowder House has a simple approach to preparing its seafood. The soups and desserts are made every day from scratch and draw from simple, yet effective, recipes. Its New England-style clam chowder takes a moderate amount of cream for the base and uses potatoes, onions and bacon for extra taste. Soft-shell clams are used, which are nicknamed "steamers." Aside from the soup, the foot-long lobster roll is a customer favorite. You can find the Chowder House off Highway 16, just north of the Northway Plaza Shopping Center
