Galveston Island State Park
Although damaged, Galveston Island State Park reopened in July 2009 for day and overnight use. When fully operational, 150 beach-side or bay-side campsites sit on 2,000 acres with 30- to 50-amp service and showers. Hurricane-damaged campsites are being re-established. From the campground, go swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, boating, and birding.
