Hillsville, Virginia is thought of by many people as a town in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. Outdoors enthusiasts know Hillsville differently; they see that it is full of places to hike and explore as it is only a short distance from Cherokee National Forest and the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests. Rio Grande

Rio Grande is a casual Mexican restaurant with an authentic Mexican theme. Upon entering the restaurant you will see murals of Mexico painted on the walls of the dining room and Mexican rugs hanging on the walls of the lobby. Traditional Mexican cuisine, including burritos, tacos, nachos, enchiladas and taquitos are offered on the menu. Warm tortilla chips and salsa are complimentary and are served to every table upon seating. A children's menu is available, serving kid-favorites such as chicken fingers, macaroni and cheese and hamburgers.

Hillsville Diner

The family-friendly Hillsville Diner is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Booths and round tables are in the dining room, giving the restaurant a quaint, cozy feel. The extensive menu is full of homemade dishes, including omelets, pancakes, french toast, country fried chicken, Salisbury steak, chicken fried steak, lasagna, spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs, mashed potatoes with gravy, grits, hush puppies, baked beans and corn on the cob. A children's menu is offered, which features chicken nuggets, corn dogs, hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Aunt Bea's Barbecue

Aunt Bea's Barbecue is a casual restaurant that serves lunch and dinner every day of the week. Picnic tables are located both in the restaurant's dining room and outside on the restaurant's patio, allowing guests to choose to dine indoors or outdoors. House specialties include barbecue baby back ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, barbecue chicken sandwiches, homemade cole slaw, homemade macaroni salad and homemade lemonade. Those that would prefer to enjoy their meals in their hotel rooms or campsites can opt to order their meals to-go.
