Clary's Restaurant
Clary's was a Savannah landmark even before it figured so prominently in the book and movie "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" that brought the city so much attention. Patronized by locals as well as tourists walking their own 'Midnight in the Garden' tour, Clary's is a fifties-style diner with fast service and reliable southern breakfast favorites, which are served well into the afternoon. The menu includes crab cakes and poached egg on English muffin, stuffed French toast, steak and eggs, seafood omelets, Southern-style biscuits, grits, buttermilk pancakes and bacon, eggs and hash browns, just about anything diners would want for breakfast. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch only. An additional location is mid-town at Habersham and 61st.

Huey's Southern Cafe
Located at the River Street Inn, Huey's Southern Cafe is sometimes refered to as Huey's on the River for its location overlooking the Savannah River in the restored warehouse river front area. Huey's is named after Huey Pierce Long, a former flamboyant governor of Louisiana who coined the phrase "Every man a king," thereby earning the nickname "Kingfish." The restaurant is Creole and Canjun in style, with the specialty being French Quarter-style cafe au lait, and authentic New Orleans-style beignets--rectangular "sweet little goodies" prepared by deep frying 3" x 3 1/2" pastry dough bits until puffy and dusting them with powder sugar and served hot. The restaurant serves Creole omelets stuffed with shrimp, a Pontchartrain omelet with creamed spinach, artichokes, provalone and hollandaise, a Pain Perdue French toast, eggs Benedict, or eggs any style with cheesy grits. Huey's serves breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, yet its breakfast menu is also served from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m.
