Schaumburg, Illinois is a suburb of Chicago that is just a few minutes from Busse Woods Forest Preserve. The surrounding area offers miles of hiking and biking trails. When it's time to refuel, Schaumburg has several restaurants that offer gluten-free menus. Regardless of what you are craving, there is probably a restaurant that will satisfy your appetite and accommodate your dietary restrictions.

Wildfire

Wildfire has an extensive gluten-free menu that includes starters, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Steak, chops, chicken and seafood are also served with a choice of six gluten-free side dishes. Sandwiches are available on a gluten-free bun. The pizza even has a gluten-free crust. To satisfy your sweet tooth, the menu offers three desserts, including a flourless chocolate cake.

P.F. Chang's China Bistro

P.F. Chang's China Bistro offers eight gluten-free entrees, starters, fried rice, rice noodles, three side dishes and a flourless chocolate dome dessert. Be sure to ask for the gluten-free soy sauce. As of 2010, prices range from $7 for chicken lettuce wraps to $18 for gluten-free salmon.

Outback Steakhouse

The Outback Steakhouse provides a gluten-free menu that includes steak, chicken, seafood and sandwiches. Read the menu carefully. According to the online menu, the rice, chips and fries are not gluten-free. Some of the sauces and dressings contain gluten. For a sweet ending, try the flourless brownie. Most entrees are priced under $15 in 2010.

Chipotle

This casual Mexican grill offers items that cost less than $10 and include burrito bowls (no flour tortilla), crispy corn tacos and salads. Enjoy naturally raised chicken and pork, beef or vegetarian black beans.
