Wintergreen Resort
The Wintergreen Resort offers anything you could need in a vacation getaway in an all-encompassing retreat. The obvious lodging and dining are available, but so are many other activities to enjoy. The resort offers a zip line that goes 900 feet at 40 miles per hour. Golf packages are offered to guests at surrounding golf courses, such as Devil's Knob or Stoney Creek. Horseback riding and fly fishing also are available, and don't worry if you don't know how, the resort offers instructors to help you. Besides the ample activities, the resort still offers four restaurants, and a bar with live music (there are also four additional cafes and bistros available during the summer months), and plenty of places to stay. The resort offers studio condominiums, condominiums with a separate seating and dining area, condominiums with one to five bedrooms, and mountain homes ranging from two to nine bedrooms with separate living and dining areas. All rooms have either an efficiency kitchen, or a full kitchen, and premium cable television and personalized voice mail.

Mark Addy Bed and Breakfast
The Mark Addy Inn rests along the Blue Ridge Mountains, only minutes away from Wintergreen, Charlottesville, Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and Poplar Forest. The Inn has 10 unique rooms--all decorated individually. The Tiger Lily Room, for instance, tries to evoke the feel of India, while the Abiner Smoothie tries to create a charming, cheery room. All rooms come with a personal bathroom, some with a tub, but all with a two-person shower. Most rooms are equipped with a flat-screen satellite television, free movies and XM radio. While being called a bed and breakfast, the inn actually offers a dining room as well, with its own personal chef. While there, take a taste of its large wine selection, and then ask about the wineries and vineyards found around the location, as the Wintergreen/Charlottesville area is known for them--there are seven located within driving distance of the Inn.

Acorn Inn Bed & Breakfast
The Acorn Inn is another bed and breakfast located near Wintergreen, along the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you can stay and enjoy the relaxation of the inn, feel free to ask about local, close-by trails to hike, ski or bike through, as there are plenty. The inn itself is located in a refurnished, converted horse stable, adding a certain rustic feel to your stay. Each of its 10 rooms includes a double bed, a big window and nice view, a desk and wardrobe. Many rooms also contain a large television with satellite channels. Besides the guest rooms, the inn also offers a separate Acorn Cottage, which sleeps up to five people, and offers extra privacy. The cottage has a kitchen, living area, bedroom and bathroom. The main inn contains a comfortable common area with a fireplace, and small kitchen for its guests. Each morning, they are all invited to partake in a breakfast of healthy, home-baked breads and fruit cobbler.
