Mustang Island, off the southern coast of Texas, is near Corpus Christi and South Padre Island. Port Aransas is the gateway community for Mustang Island. Try surfing, sea-kayaking, snorkeling, scuba-diving, bird-watching, and boogie-boarding on the island. The region is recognized as a premiere U.S. bird watching area due to the many migratory species that pass through the region. RV travelers have a range of parks and campgrounds to select from in the area.

Mustang Island State Park is part of the Texas park's system. There are sites for RV travelers and tent campers in the park. Water and electric connections are available for RV campers. Hot showers and bathrooms are on the premises for guest comfort. Sites are available on a first-come/first-serve basis. Pets are allowed but must remain leashed while in the park. There is a five-mile stretch of open beach at the park where hikers and mountain bikers can explore their sports. Surfing, fishing and sea-kayaking can be done from the campground. Wild dolphin are frequently spotted in the waters off the beach. Bird-watchers can try spotting the myriad species of shore and sea-birds that live in the region. Guests should check for posted updates regarding red-tides and dinoflagellates in the waters prior to swimming or entering the ocean.

On the Beach RV Park

On the Beach RV Park is in the community of Port Aransas. There are miles of beaches accessible from the RV park. RVs of most sizes can be accommodated. There are cable TV, Wi-Fi, water, sewer, and 30- or 50-amp electric connections. Pets are welcome. Guests can refresh and rinse off the salty brine in the hot showers at the campground. Guided or self-guided scuba trips can be arranged in Port Aransas. Sailing charters can be hired in the harbors. Sea-kayakers can put-in at the beaches and paddle the coast, keeping an eye out for dolphin, birds and sea turtles.

Surfside RV and Resort offers a range of services and amenities to RV travelers on Mustang Island and Port Aransas. RVs of most sizes can be handled. There are standard 30- and 50-amp electric, water and sewer connections. Wi-Fi is available throughout the campground. Pets are welcome. Anglers can take advantage of the resort's fish cleaning station to filet and prep daily catches. A community room, hot showers and bathrooms are on the property for guest comfort. Sea-kayaking and surfing are within five minutes of the campground. Snorkeling and scuba-diving can be arranged with guided charters or on self-guided tours. Maps are available at many of the dive shops in Port Aransas.
