Alaska is a premier fishing destination due to its abundance of unexploited fishing waters. Visitors will find a wide variety of resorts, which include fly-in and drive-in locations throughout the Alaskan wilderness. Guests can book guided trips for king salmon, halibut and trout as well as experience the peaceful and secluded Alaskan landscape.

Northwoods Lodge

Northwoods Lodge is located on Fish Lakes Creek,100 miles northwest of Anchorage, and is only accessible by float plane or boat. It offers guests three cabins, which include all linens, private restrooms and a porch with a lake view. Amenities include cable TV and an Internet connection. The lodge has a spacious dining room, a lounge area, a game room and a hot tub. Northwoods Lodge provides three meals a day for guests and snacks when they are fishing. Guides take guests to several local rivers and streams, including Lake Creek, Fish Lakes Creek and the Yentna River. All tackle and bait is provided. Guests go after catch salmon, steelhead and trout. Fishing options include wading and float fishing from specialized river boats, depending on the water and the experience of the guest.

Dove Island Lodge

Dove Island Lodge is on Dove Island, a 2-acre private island in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Sitka, Alaska. It offers several lodge rooms and two private cabins that accommodate two guests and include rustic log furniture and lodge linens. Guests receive three meals a day prepared by the lodge's professionally-trained chefs. Options include deep-water fishing in the Pacific for king salmon and halibut on a 40-foot yacht. All bait and tackle, fish cleaning and packaging are provided. Guests are also flown by float planes to inland locations to fish for steelhead, trout and salmon, with all tackle and a guide provided.

Waterfall Resort

Waterfall Resort is on the western shore of Prince of Wales Island and just a 40-minute flight from Ketchikan, Alaska. It offers 26 waterfront cabins as well as 10 lodge rooms; all include rustic lodge decorations. Fishing packages include round-trip transportation from Ketchikan, all meals and beverages, except alcohol, and daily guided fishing trips. All equipment and fish-processing is included. Waterfall Resort uses cabin cruisers to fish the inner passages and Pacific Ocean for salmon, halibut and ling cod. Other trips that can be purchased include ones by float plane to inland rivers and lakes for salmon and trout.
