Tiramisu is one of the most popular after-dinner deserts in traditional Italian cuisine. Technically a cake, the dish is made by dipping savoiardi (or lady finger biscuits) in espresso or dank coffee and sometimes rum or liqueur and adding other ingredients by layer. The trick to a good tiramisu is in the layering of the different taste and texture elements. Having tiramisu is a good way to end a day spent outdoors.

Roma Café

Roma Café, a Detroit Italian institution, offers large portions of great traditional Italian food. Included on its packed desert menu is the delectable tiramisu. Described as "cappuccino cake with liqueur," this meal-ender is perfect with a coffee or night cap. Roma is Detroit's oldest Italian restaurant for good reason.
