The Big Sky State of Montana has many opportunities for various outdoor activities. In winter there are places to cross-country, downhill and telemark ski. Hiking, mountain biking, rock-climbing, bouldering, mountaineering, canoeing, river-rafting, and kayaking can be enjoyed in Montana in the non-snow filled months. Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks are in the state and provide many opportunities to enjoy outdoor sports. RV travelers have a range of parks and campgrounds as options.

West Glacier KOA

The West Glacier KOA is near Glacier National Park and has sites for RVs up to 75 feet. Site hookups include 30- or 50-amp electric, water and sewer. Wi-Fi and cable TV connections are available. Pets are allowed if leashed. AAA and Good Sam club members receive discounted rates. Hot showers, private toilets, a coin-operated laundry, and a game room are on the premises. Firewood, propane and snacks are sold at the campground office. There are several white-water rafting companies in the area. Glacier National Park has almost 1,000 miles of trails for hiking and backpacking.

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park and Cabins

Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park and Cabins is near the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. RVs of most sizes can be handled at the RV park. Sites have sewer, water, cable TV, Wi-Fi and 30- or 50-amp electric. Amenities at the park include hot showers, bathrooms, barbecue stations, laundry room, a guest room with games, a dump station, and a playground. There is a dog-friendly play area where pets can romp off-leash. The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is within 30 minutes of the park. Yellowstone National Park has hiking trails and wildlife observation opportunities. Moose, elk, bison, and grizzly bear are frequently spotted.

Bear Canyon Campground

Bear Canyon Campground offers visitors to the Bozeman area an RV park that can handle most RV sizes. Water, sewer and 20- 30- or 50-amp electric connections are standard at each site. Pets are welcome. Hot showers and bathrooms are available for guest use. Wi-Fi is available. Mountain bikers can head to Big Sky Mountain Resort to ride the trails at the resort. Fly-fishermen can take advantage of the rivers in the region to try for rainbow and brook trout. Bozeman Hot Springs are within 30 minutes of the campground. Guests can pay to use the hot springs facilities and enjoy soaks in the natural, geothermal pools.
