Campgrounds Near Lexington, Michigan

Lexington, Michigan, is a historic port town on the south end of Lake Huron. There are many recreational activities that are associated with Lake Huron and the beach. Many trails run along the beach and in the forests that surround the area. Campgrounds range from primitive to modern RV facilities, and from beach property to backwoods areas.

Lexington RV Resort

The Lexington RV Resort is for RV use only, and has 210 sites that are available by the day, week, month or year. You can also become a part owner. The campground is across the road from Lake Huron. All of the sites have full hookups with up to 50-amp connections. This campground has paved streets and concrete pads. Most of the sites are back-in, but there are some pull-through sites available. Any size RV can be accommodated. The resort has a large clubhouse, kitchen facilities, restrooms and showers. There is easy access to Lake Huron, and there is a swimming pool on the grounds. Cable TV is available, and there are entertainment and planned activities during the summer.

Lakeport State Park

Lakeport State Park is on Lake Huron and 10 miles from Lexington. The park has two distinct sections, one with primitive camping setups for groups; the other is a more modern area with 250 sites. The campground also has mini-cabins, one-room structures with a bed that come with electricity and water. Campsites have full hookups for up to 50-amp connections. Some sites are pull-through sites, while others are back-in. There are restrooms, showers and playground areas, and easy access to Lake Huron, although no sites are located on the water. The village of Lakeport is next to the campground.

Ruby Campground

The Ruby Campground is back in the woods and is surrounded by lots of nature to enjoy, but still has some modern conveniences. Of the 70 campsites, 19 come with full hookups, 28 with electric only and 23 with no connections at all. Most of the sites are pull-through sites. There are also four cabins, each with a bed, kitchen stove and refrigerator, heating and air conditioning. Nightly, weekly and seasonal rates are available. The pond and river are stocked with fish, and there is a raft available for use in the pond. Ruby Campground offers five miles of well-marked trails for hiking or cycling. An on-site camp store sells firewood, bait, ice and other basic supplies. The campground is pet-friendly and is open May through October.
