Somerville is located in Burleson County, Texas. The area boasts prairies and lakes with many water activities at Somerville Lake, including boating and fishing. Other recreational activities include hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, canoeing and jet skiing. Lake Somerville State Park and Trailway offers 20 miles of hiking trails featuring wildlife-viewing opportunities of species like white-tailed deer, fox, coyote, rabbit, waterfowl, raccoon and quail. There are many marinas and campgrounds offering cabin accommodations surrounding the area.

Somerville Lake House and Cabin is located less than 2 miles from Somerville Lake where guests can enjoy boating and fishing. The lake house sleeps up to 12 guests and includes three bedrooms, two baths, heat and air conditioning, wireless Internet, washer and dryer and a fully equipped kitchen. Other amenities include BBQ grills, campfire pit, horseshoes and playground. Somerville Lake offers excellent fishing with species like largemouth, white and hybrid bass, white crappie, perch and channel, blue and flathead catfish.

Big Creek Marina

Big Creek Marina features waterfront cabins that are situated right by Lake Somerville. Cabin amenities include heat and air conditioning, pillows, linens, towels, toilet paper, soap and a fully equipped kitchen. Big Creek Marina has water-front cabins, a cabana and a bunkhouse cabin. Waterfront cabins are built on extended piers right by the lake and have porches. Cabanas are located about 250 feet from the boat launch and the lake. Accommodations for tent and RV camping are also available. Big Creek Marina has activities like swimming, boating, pier fishing, hiking, bird watching and bicycling. Catches from the marina include crappie, white bass, catfish and black bass. Boat rentals are also available.

Lake Somerville Marina & Campground

Lake Somerville Marina & Campground offers five water-front rustic cabins with amenities such as two double beds, heat and air conditioning, satellite TV, shower, refrigerator and a cooktop burner. The campground also accommodates tent and RV camping. Activities include fishing, swimming, hiking, boating, canoeing and jet skiing. Boat, jet ski and canoe rentals are available on-site.
